Yesterday we cupped some delicious in-season coffees from Intelligentsia and Stumptown. Our favorite today was the new coffee from Burundi, which really shows off the progress Aleco and the crew at Stumptown have made at the processing mills in that country. - Dry: wood fire, chocolate, oatmeal, plum, cranberry, milk chocolate, black walnut
- Wet: chocolate chip cookies, chocolate, cardamom
- Break: worcestershire sauce, darker, tobacco, mystery
- Brightness: lower, dull, little sour
- Flavor: soapy, umami/soy, sweet, cranberry, raisins
- Body: medium, heavy
- Aftertaste: not much, raw potatoes
#2 Intelligentsia Brazil Agua Preta
- Dry: nutty, almond, buttery, corn chips, wood fire
- Wet: bok choy, stir fry, peanut sauce, coffee
- Break: ketchup, peanuts, raisins
- Brightness: medium, very mild, bright,
- Flavor: herbs, cooked carrots, vegetal, little peanut, drinkable
- Body: mild, medium
- Aftertaste: peanut, mild, pleasant, floral
#3 Stumptown Coffee Roasters Burundi Bwayi
- Dry: curry, caramel, vanilla bean x2, orange, mild hazelnut
- Wet: cardamom, jasmine, orange, complex
- Break: chai, ketchup, tomato vine, autumn leaves
- Brightness: high x2
- Flavor: floral, herbs, lavender, bergamot
- Body: most bold, full and juicy
- Aftertaste: spices, lingering, oranges, caramel, a little dry
