Jobs at TampTamp:

TempTamp Barista
A TempTamp barista must be able to thrive under pressure. A successful TempTamp barista can walk into any situation with a smile and the firm belief that they can learn something anywhere. As TampTamp’s first impression in many situations, the TempTamp barista must fervently uphold the virtues of TampTamp and simultaneously represent the client cafe’s beliefs and standards.

TampCamp Trainer
TampTamp is seeking an associate who will join our team with a focus on growing TampTamp’s core business. This individual will have an entrepreneurial vision and a clear strategy on how they can translate ideas that grow the coffee community into successful business strategy. This person will think outside the box, be willing to wear many hats, and be responsible for their own personal and professional destiny. We seek a coffee-person who wants to learn daily and share that knowledge with students, clients, and co-workers. Once trained, specific duties will include promoting TampCamp course enrollment, instructing students during public courses, and conducting private trainings. There may also be opportunity to grow into a consulting position. Previous experience as a cafe or wholesale trainer, retail manager, consultant or business advisor is strongly preferred.

Coffee Planners Consultant
TampTamp is looking for coffee professionals with a specific area of specialty, such as business planning, layout, design, operations, or any other aspect of a successful coffee company. TampTamp consultants will be successful, entrepreneurial professionals with the ability to sell themselves and their talents. One of the most difficult aspects of the consulting business is the idea of selling an idea. A successful consultant believes in the solutions they offer and can persuade their potential client of the benefits of our services. Specific duties will include sourcing potential clients, making contact, following up, and following through on the services offered to make happy clients. The best consultants are friendly, compassionate people who are going to go the extra mile to make every customer of TampTamp feel cared for. The ideal individual will possess the skills to make people want to buy from them.

Special Projects
We like to think of TampTamp as an ideas company. Because of that, we are constantly looking for ways to make coffee better. If you have a plan to make coffee better and you believe you can make it pay for itself, bring it to us. If the idea makes sense and we can help, we will hire you to make it a reality.

Jobs that TampTamp are currently looking to fill for other companies

Barista
At TampTamp, we have a motto we live by: Make great coffee. Be nice about it. To us, this means that coffee must be equal parts preparation and customer service. We are constantly on the lookout for great baristas. Whether a seasoned professional or a coffee-fanatic with little to no experience, we want to talk to you. A barista’s job is to serve customers (coffee, tea, pastries), create a pleasing environment (clean, warm, unobtrusive), and uphold the values of the cafe they work in. A barista working with TampTamp works hard, learns constantly, and is nice about it.

Head/Lead Barista
a head/lead barista has all the skills necessary to work in a cafe, has the experience necessary to do every job, and is ready to move to a more supervisory role. The head/lead barista acts as shift supervisor by managing other baristas on duty, making sure everything gets done, and handling customer issues in a friendly, customer-centric manner. The head/lead barista understands that while the customer may not always be right, the customer must always be heard. The lead barista has ample barista experience, with a skill-set that enables them to work calmly and efficiently under pressure while still maintaining the highest standards of quality. A Lead barista will be comfortable with many coffee preparation styles and be able to relate them to employees in an open and effective way.

Director of Coffee
The Director of Coffee position is another step in the chain. Stepping back some from day-to-day activities, the director of coffee is responsible for the vision of the cafe. Director of Coffee activities include:

  • sourcing new, interesting coffees for retail sales
  • ongoing training and new initiatives
  • determining the scope and vision of cafe, and enacting new projects
  • light equipment maintenance and upkeep

Cafe Trainer
In a cafe, nothing is as important to the success of the cafe as a well-trained staff. A great cafe trainer can not only make great coffee, but can explain it to others in a clear and concise manner. Cafe trainers understand that the learning process is never complete and is always seeking to explore the many facets of coffee preparation, customer service, and ingenuity that presents itself every day. Coffee is one of the oldest, but least understood industries in the world and there is always something new to learn. The cafe trainer will not only work with baristas on shift but will also schedule time to work with each barista one-on-one to help them develop and grow.

Cafe Manager
The cafe manager makes everything work together. The best managers work well with numbers, budgets, and scheduling and focus less on the coffee and more on the operations of the cafe. A great manager understands that in order for a cafe to function well, it must make a profit, and can balance the needs of the cafe with the needs of the baristas and customers. The ideal manager has several years cafe operations experience, but because this position is less about working behind a bar and more about making the cafe run smoothly and efficiently, this is a good opportunity for business minded coffee people to break into the industry without years of coffee experience.
